Last Press conference of The Miller Path project held |

On Friday 29.08.2008 the last press conference of the crossborder cooperation project INTERREG IIIa Slovenia-Hungary-Croatia „Miller path“ was held in newly arranged and equipped from this project spaces of Tourist informative centre of municipality Sveti Martin na Muri.
On press conference representatives of Central Financing and Contracting Agency, for contracting and supervising projects financed from European Union funds – director Mrs. Marija Tufekčić and procurement specialist Mrs. Kristina Ozimec, as well as representative of Slovenian project partners – leader of Institute for tourism and culture of Municipality Beltinci Mrs. Ela Horvat, and EOL’s national project partners – head of Municipality Sveti Martin na Muri Mr. Franjo Makovec, president of Tourist board of municipality Sveti Martin na Muri Mr. Branko Polanec, president of Tourist board of Municipality Štrigova Mr. Josip Mikec were present.
Project Manager Peđa Nedeljkov presented the entire project that was completed in nine months, and president of EOL Mr. Rudi Grula introduced the present with the continuation of the project – the new ideas.
After the official part and presentation of the entire project, all participants of the press conference have gone with the project team on the river Mura, beside the floating mill, where novelties on the field have been introduced to them. Afterwards a small banquet on newly equipped picnic area near the mill was held.

Etnographic exhibition set on The Floating Mill |

Ethnographic research was performed about mills, milling and accompanying crafts and customs connected to milling in cooperation with external expert, prof. Smiljana Petr-Marčec – ethnographer of the Museum Međimurje.
In the research, employees of Tourist boards of municipalities Štrigova and Sveti Martin na Muri as well as students of primary schools Sveti Martin and Štrigova were included. Mrs. Smiljana made elaborate “Milling and millers customs” as final work summarizing the research. Also, permanent exhibition was set on the upper floor of the mill – five posters created based on the research.
